Neuro Thred is more than a project—it's a growing movement to reweave the way we understand mental health and neurodiversity. By weaving together Therapy, Research, and Education, we are creating a space for curious minds, compassionate practitioners, and forward-thinking researchers to come together with a shared goal: to foster a more inclusive, socially informed approach to neurotype and mental health awareness.
We believe that understanding neurotypes should go beyond clinical definitions or outdated medical paradigms. That’s why we're actively shifting the narrative—from a model that isolates to one that empowers. Through accessible education, ethical research, and collaborative publication, Neuro Thred supports both professionals and individuals with lived experience in co-creating knowledge that connects rather than divides.
At the heart of our work lies a commitment to education as a catalyst for meaningful change. We are developing comprehensive learning pathways for researchers, practitioners, and community members, including:
-
Courses on ethical research practices, equipping both emerging and experienced researchers with the tools to carry out inclusive, responsible, and impactful studies.
-
Training on neurotype awareness, centred on social context, identity, and lived experience—moving away from pathologising frameworks.
-
Workshops and resources designed to challenge dominant narratives and promote neuro-affirming practices across disciplines.
In parallel, we are laying the groundwork for a peer-reviewed journal that will provide a platform for publishing rigorous, innovative work, particularly research that centres lived experience, promotes interdisciplinary dialogue, and challenges convention.
Neuro Thred invites you to be part of this evolving conversation. Whether you're a researcher, educator, therapist, or someone passionate about neurodiversity and mental health, there is a thread here for you to follow—and a place for your voice.
We welcome your curiosity, your questions, and your collaboration.
Let’s build something transformative, together.
